6.7L Cummins® Turbo Diesel I-6
Standard on 4500/5550 and available on 3500, the 6.7-liter Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine produces 305 horsepower and up to 610 lb-ft of torque. This powerhouse diesel also features pilot-fuel injection and common rail architecture that make it exceptionally quiet-running. Its formidable engine block stiffness, composite valve cover, optimized accessory drive pulleys, multilayer oil pan construction and robust engine block side panels all contribute to state-of-the-art control of noise, vibration and harshness. The standard diesel exhaust brake that accompanies the Cummins Turbo Diesel performs better than the Ford F-550 according to AMCI2 testing and contributes to improved driver control, reduced brake fade and longer brake life. Manual-Shift Part-Time 4x4 System
The NV271 transfer case features a floor-mounted shifter to engage 4WD operation. The 4LO range provides extra pulling power and traction in off-road situations
Electronically-Controlled Part-Time 4x4 System
The NV273 electric-shift transfer case improves four-wheel drive system control by letting the driver shift the vehicle into four-wheel drive electronically and on the fly with the turn of a switch. It features a 4LO range for extra pulling power and off-road situations

Class-Exclusive* 6-speed Manual Transmission
The commercial-grade G56 6-speed manual transmission is standard with the 6.7L Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine. Six gear ratios assure smooth acceleration and cruising. The ultra-low first gear ratio is particularly effective for launching with heavy loads or trailers.
6-speed Automatic Transmission
The commercial-grade AISIN 6-speed automatic is an available option with the 6.7L Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine. The AISIN provides wide ratio capability with precise ratio steps for optimum drivability. Increased fuel economy is another benefit with the use of a second overdrive ratio and reduced engine noise. The unit also features both a Tow/Haul operation mode and Electronic Range Select (ERS) to aid in trailer towing.
